Step 1

Step 1

Cut or form a suitable size opening in the floor or wall, ensuring that any annular space between the CT120 and the opening is within the limits defined by the tested constructions.

Step 2

Slide the CT120 into the previously formed opening, making sure that it is positioned centrally within the thickness of the floor or wall ensuring that an equal length protrudes either side.

Step 2

Step 3

Step 3

Using the correct size CT Mounting Flanges, open flanges and fit over each end of the CT120. Slide each flange until it is pressed against the surface of the wall or floor. Fit the supplied nut and bolt through the pre formed holes in the corner of each flange and tighten securely.

Step 4

Remove the supplied end plugs and pass the cables through the CT120 and support on either side of wall or floor as required. Re-fit the end plugs into both ends of the CT120 around the cables.

Here are some good design principles to think about when looking for firestop materials.

•All openings should be provided with a fire-stop that maintains the required integrity (fire rating) and/or insulation (t) of the fire wall or floor
• Insulation (temperature ratings) should be provided when combustible materials are located close to the wall of floor surface
• Fire-stops should be suitable for their intended use (fire & non-fire situations)
• Fire-stops should not affect the normal operation of building services/joint design
• Selected fire-stops should be tested or assessed to the relevant fire safety or building code

Firestops:

  1.  Prevent the passage of fire
  2. —Provide an effective smoke and toxic gas barrier
  3. —Water resistance seal
  4. —Retards transmission of heat
  5. —Lower insurance costs
  6. —Peace of mind
